So while making the Suffix version of the Little Blue Men file folder game I noticed that in my prefix version I had completely forgotten to make words for one of the prefixes. How embarrassing. So for all of you who have downloaded the previous version, please download it again. I will be letting these games be available for free until next Monday when I will combine the games and put them up for sale on this site. The free giveaway is over. You can purchase this game here at File Folder - Printables page.
If you liked the Little Blue Men from Space prefixes your going to love this new version with suffixes. Just like before students need to help the little blue men learn about our language by matching words with suffixes to create longer and more complex words. The download includes a playing mat, title, pieces pouch, playing cards, and a recording sheet.
Note: To those that have already downloaded the prefixes version I've discovered some mistakes and am fixing them now. When I've finished I will repost the updated version and will ask that you download it again. The free giveaway is over. You can purchase the game at the file folder - printables page. Little Blue Men are coming to earth and are trying to learn English. They already learned some prefixes and they've sent out scouts to collect words. Your students job is to match root words to a prefixes, then record their observations on a recording sheet. (Note: I'm using root word here to mean any word that a prefix can be added to, not the smallest unit of meaning. I'm doing this to have students focus on the prefix and its meaning.)
The free giveaway is over. To purchase this game or see other great file folder games visit the File-Folder - printables page. It's taken a long time but I've finished a new set of file-folder games. These games cover 72 word families and are perfect to use as reading centers or you can send these games home as homework for your students. In these game each dog bone has a word on it. Students will need to match the word on the dog bone to the correct dog bowl that has corresponding word families. Students can play the game individually, or they can play in pairs. _2 player version – Students will each have one side of the game board to play on. They will need to take turns choosing bones if the word on the bone matches one of their dog bowls they will place their bone down. If it doesn't the will still read the word but place it back in the pile. Because of its large file size I can't host the file on this site. I will however be giving away a preview which contains 3 of the 12 games. When you purchase the games instead of being redirected to a site where you can download the file, you will be sent an email with your file as an attachment.

2012 has started and being full of goals and ideas I've just created my first new product of the year. It's going to be the start of a series of counting games. These games will use kids favorite food to help them learn to count. First off is the old classic of macaroni and cheese. In this game kids will count out all of the ingredients they need by placing them on the counter. There will be two types of counting boards that they will be able to use. This one will help students with there number recognition skills. This one can be used for students who already recognize numbers but skill need practice counting. There are five different recipe cards that you kids can use to practice counting. I've also included the links to the actual recipes. For those of you who homeschool this will be a great way to help you kids make real life math connections. For teachers - you can always send the recipes home. Like always the first few days after this product is released it will be available as a free download. I do this in order to reward those who subscribe to me on facebook or on my blog.
